David Irving named head coach of Tulsa

videoWe knew it was just a matter of time. David Irving is back in the USL Pro Soccer League, On Wednesday he was named the head coach of the new Tulsa franchise. Irving had been the face of the Wilmington Hammerheads for more than a decade until he stepped down this summer.

videoDavid Irving is out as head coach of the Wilmington Hammerheads. The team today announced that, by mutual agreement, Irving is leaving his role and will no longer be involved in the day to day operation with the team.

videoDavid Irving didn't travel with the Wilmington Hammerheads for the three game road trip to California this week. The Hammerheads started the trip with a 2-0 to Sacramento FC Republic. It appears Irving won't be coaching the Hammerheads when they return to town next week either. We expect a full update on Thursday morning.

Hammerheads fall to MLS partner Toronto FC in exhibition soccer match

videoThe Wilmington Hammerheads FC hosted their Major League Soccer affiliate Toronto FC in a friendly match on Wednesday night at Legion Stadium. Former New Hanover Wildcat soccer standout Ross Tomaselli made his Hammerheads debut in Toronto's 2-1 victory.

Reaction on Hammerheads first home win of season + bench clearing scuffle too

videoDon't look now, but the Wilmington Hammerheads are suddenly one of the hottest teams in USL Pro Soccer. They've won their last two games. Saturday's game against Charleston was a bit chippy, especially in the second half. Jordan Hamilton, on loan from MLS Toronto FC, scored the only goal of the game for Wilmington. We have reaction from head coach David Irving on the win and the scuffle.
