On Tuesday night the Hoggard boys held their ground by defeating New Hanover in boys basketball. The Vikings remain in sole possession of first place in the Mideastern Conference. Laney now holds first place for the girls. In the Waccamaw Conference there's now a three way tie for first place in the boys with South Columbus, West Brunswick and North Brunswick. Full story...

On Thursday the New Hanover Wildcat boys basketball team improved their league record to 3-1 with a 49-38 victory over Rose. We had action from Greenville. The Carolina Panthers keep racking up victories late in the season, but it's too little too late for a run at the playoffs. In the 2012 home finale the Panthers held off the Oakland Raiders in a penalty-filled game. It's the fourth win for Carolina in their last five games.
