Unfortunately the Seattle Seahawks get to fly back with a road victory on the opening Sunday of the NFL season. On Tuesday UNCW baseball coach Mark Scalf picked up his 700th career win as the Seahawk head coach. On Tuesday Wilmington's Derek Brunson found out that his next UFC bout will be in June in Brazil. Former East Bladen standout arrested in Miami

East Bladen High School retired Desmond Bryant's football jersey earlier this month in Elizabethtown. Sunday morning the Oakland Raiders defensive lineman was arrested in Miami on a misdemeanor charge.

videoOn Tuesday night the Hoggard boys held their ground by defeating New Hanover in boys basketball. The Vikings remain in sole possession of first place in the Mideastern Conference. Laney now holds first place for the girls. In the Waccamaw Conference there's now a three way tie for first place in the boys with South Columbus, West Brunswick and North Brunswick.
