videoThe Burgaw Belles traveled all the way to Louisiana in order to compete against a slew of state champion softball teams. In the finals the girls from Burgaw had to face Louisiana. As it turns out Burgaw won 12-7 on Thursday afternoon to capture the Dixie Belles World Series title.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians earlier this week said Cooper needs to shake off the rust. Cooper even admitted his level of play is not where it needs to be. Wilmington Waves win national title in hoops; update on Hoggard coach Scott Braswell & more

videoThe Wilmington Waves 7th grade basketball team captured a national title for travel basketbal in Myrtle Beach. Hoggard football coach Scott Braswell is back in Wilmington. The 2014 baseball season is now over for the Wilmington Sharks. The playoffs will start on Wednesday, but the Sharks won't be included.

On Tuesday night we checked out baseball practice in Wilmington for the state champion Post 10 squad. Their next mission is to claim the regional crown.... On Tuesday we also provided an update on the Pender Dixie Youth softball squad. They're just one win away from a Dixie World Series title.... WWAY's Monday night sports - August 6

video On Monday night we checked out the "Orange-Black" scrimmage at Legion Stadium. New Hanover High looked sharp just four nights before Friday's BB&T Jamboree... Pender County native Donnell Holmes won a pro bout over the weekend, but just barely.... The Pender Dixie Belles are undefeated after four games at the Dixie Youth World Series.... Plus more !

Burgaw Ponytails honored for Dixie World Series win

A Pender County softball team is honored for their Dixie Youth World Series title Monday night in Burgaw. The Burgaw Ponytails captured the Dixie Youth World Series title last week in Louisiana. Burgaw beat Florida 2-1 in the championship game.
