UNC-CH pharmacy school receives $100 million gift

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has received $100 million for its pharmacy school, which is the largest individual gift in the school's history and among the top 10 donations to a college nationally in 2014. UNC announced the gift from Fred Eshelman on Wednesday. Eshelman graduated from UNC in 1972 and is the founder and former chief executive officer of Pharmaceutical Product Development. UNC-Chapel Hill's previous largest gift was $50 million.

Fire takes a life, 12 dogs and leaves family homeless

video An Elizabethtown family is grieving the loss of a mother and now in need of a home following a house fire. "She was my life," Shari Ross said. Ross is mourning the loss of her mother Patricia Clay and at the same time facing the idea of being homeless. Last Saturday morning around 2:30 Ross woke up to her brother yelling.
