The Street Turkeys of Wilmington have been at The Landing in Wrightsville Beach all day collecting food for the food banks that serve central and eastern North Carolina. Event coordinator Jai Isear says the rain did not stop the donations from coming in. He says the food from this donation serves four counties and they serve about 67,000 people that don't know where their next meal comes from. Full story...

An organization collected buses-full of school supplies for those who cannot afford them. Volunteers for the “Stuff the Bus” campaign were working diligently just inside of the Wal-Mart at Monkey Junction today giving out wish lists of supplies needed to shoppers, in hopes they would return with donations.
