Governor Pat McCrory ordered United States and North Carolina flags to be lowered from sunrise to sunset on April 23 on state facilities in honor of the seven U.S. Marines who were killed, and those wounded, as part of a training exercise on March 18, 2013, at Nevada’s Hawthorne Army Depot.
