NC health officials: Two adults died from flu

State health officials say two adults have died from the flu in North Carolina, raising the state death toll during the flu season to four. The state Department of Health and Human Services reports the latest deaths involved one adult between the ages of 25 and 49, and another adult aged 65 and older.

2nd NC child dies from flu complications

State health officials say a second child in North Carolina has died of complications from the flu. The state Department of Health and Human Services reported the death on its website Friday. While neither the child's age nor identity have been released, the website reports the victim was between 5 and 17 years old and died last week.

Three people died of the flu in North Carolina last week, down from the previous week and a sign that the illness is in decline. In all, the state Department of Health and Human Services says 85 people have died from the flu since the season began in November.
