New Hanover and Hoggard both picked up league wins on Tuesday. New Hanover's victory over West Brunswick vaults the Wildcats to 3-1 in the Mideastern Conference. Hoggard is now 3-1 in the Mideastern too. Full story...

West Columbus has been knocking on Whiteville's door as far as baseball supremacy in Columbus County recently. On Friday the defending 1-A state champions made sure the door is closed. Whiteville, the defending 1-A state champion, shutout West Columbus 2-0. Full story...

West Brunswick entered Friday's Mideastern Conference baseball showdown with Topsail sporting a perfect 8-0 record. Topsail senior, and future UNCW Seahawk, Clark Cota slammed the first pitch he saw over the fence to give Topsail a 2-0 lead. Former West Brunswick Trojan baseball standout Hunter Allen knocked in the winning run for East Carolina on Wednesday against UNC Greensboro. Check out our game highlights from Greenville. We also checked out high school baseball action on Wednesday. North Brunswick got out of the gate early against Wallace-Rose Hill. A handful of Major League Baseball scouts watched Topsail senior Clark Cota dominate the Hoggard Vikings on Tuesday night in Hampstead. Cota pitched four solid innings in the Mideastern Conference opener. The future UNCW Seahawk gave up one hit and struck out eleven batters. Full story...

Pending school board approval West Brunswick has a new head baseball and football coach. Bob Hanna was up for board approval on Tuesday night in order to be the new West Brunswick football head coach. Hanna has been the head football coach at Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina the last 20 years. Pending school board approval the new head baseball coach at West Brunswick High is T.J. Spivey. He's been the head baseball coach at South Columbus the last two years. Full story...
