The Hoggard girls basketball team overcame a five point halftime deficit on Friday in the 4-A Eastern Regionals against Broughton High School in Fayetteville. Julia Buehler led Hoggard with 18 points. . Full story...

Third round play is now complete for the high school basketball state playoffs. We featured game action on Tuesday night from five different venues. We had eight local teams hitting the court, but the only squad from our area that gets to move on is the girls team at Hoggard. Full story...

We had a full slate of high school basketball state playoff action on WWAY on Friday night. It included a wild scene at West Bladen High where a bat interrupted play just after the playoff game at West Bladen tipped off. We also showcased playoff action between Hoggard-Overhills and East Columbus-Whiteville. Plus, we featured the plays of the year for girls basketball. Full story...

We had more than our fair share of state playoff high school basketball on WWAY on Thursday night. A handful of our games came down to the wire. That was the case in Wilmington with the New Hanover-South View finish. The Pender-Trask game was equally as close. The West Brunswick Trojans avoided an upset, but it certainly didn't look like they'd be able to pull it out until the end. Plus more! Full story...

The high school basketball state playoffs were scheduled to start on Tuesday in North Carolina, but there weren't any games around our area until Wednesday night due to Tuesday's snow and ice. Most first round games will be played on Thursday or Friday instead. We have updates on games that involve local schools. Full story...
