Tuesday night, members of the Wilmington City Council will talk baseball once again.
One item on the agenda is how much it will cost to put Ben McCoy and Josh Fulton's anti-tax based baseball stadium petition on the general election ballot.

The battle over plans for a ballpark in Wilmington continue to heat up. Yesterday, a group against using tax money to build a stadium in the Port City submitted a petition with about 4,000 signatures. If the Board of Elections verifies enough of the signatures, the City Council would have to accept the language of the petition as an ordinance or put it up for a public vote.

As we first told you last week, a petition is circulating around Wilmington against using tax money to build a ballpark. Organizers say they are not against the stadium in general; just the taxpayers footing the bill.
