Wright brothers' mechanic honored at Ohio museum

The man who built the engine for Orville and Wilbur Wright's first powered aircraft has finally gotten his due. It was Charles Taylor - a mechanic in the brothers' Dayton bicycle shop - who built the engine for the airplane that first took flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, on Dec. 17, 1903.

Wind energy debate blows into Wilmington

videoThe Bureau of Ocean Energy Management took public reaction to offshore wind energy coming to our area in a meeting tonight in Wilmington. Two of the three potential sites the bureau has identified on the North Carolina coast are in our area. There was a packed room of people talking turbines. While some supported the idea, others were not fans.
