New Hanover County has filled what it calls a key role tasked with managing the county's waterways, shore protection and beach nourishment efforts. H. Layton Bedsole Jr. will join the county October 30 as its new Shore Protection Coordinator, or what has become popularly known as the county's "sand man." Full story...
