Pender County hires second interim manager in six days

videoFor the second time in less than a week, the Pender County Commission has hired an interim county manager. Commissioner today agreed to hire Bob Murphy until a permanent manager is hired.

Pender animal shelter passes re-inspection

video Last week the Pender County animal shelter was the point of allegations. Two weeks ago, inspectors found animals not being properly cared for but those problems seemed to be corrected. The shelter passed a re-inspection Monday.

Pender County hires new manager

Pender County has a new county manager. In a 3-2 vote, the County Commission this morning selected Mickey Duvall to succeed Rick Benton, who is retiring.

FIRST ON 3: Pender Co. to introduce new county manager Thursday

Pender County will introduce its new manager later this week. The County Commission will appoint Dr. Michael N. "Mickey" Duvall of Franklin as the new county manager Thursday morning. Duvall currently serves as the county manager in Graham County.
