videoWWAY's Full Court Press co-host Brett Blizzard will be representing North Carolina in two more weeks at a showcase basketball game. Blizzard will be joined by several former ACC basketball standouts. Clemson is the consensus pick to finish first for ACC football this season. WWAY's Tuesday night sports - July 16; Trot Nixon takes youth baseball team to regionals

videoTrot Nixon no longer plays professional baseball, but he remains involved in baseball by coaching his youngest son's youth baseball team. Nixon's Supper Optimist squad will compete in the SE Regional starting this Thursday in Virginia. Wilmington Post 10 secured a spot in the state legion tournament with a playoff win on Tuesday over Whiteville Post 137. Plus more!

videoThe Wilmington Sharks lost both games of a doubleheader on Wednesday night. The competition will be even stiffer on Thursday. The Sharks will host Team USA on Thursday at Buck Hardee Field. Lenny Simpson has returned to Wilmington for the sole purpose of putting more tennis racquets into the hands of Wilmington youth. Plus more!

Former New Hanover slugger Jordan Betts was named the baseball player of the week in the ACC on Monday. Two former Wilmington Waves made their Bosox debut on Monday. Plus more!

Our main focus of attention occurred in Chapel Hill as we tracked three different Hoggard High graduates who all played a major part in the outcome of Saturday's NC State-North Carolina football game: Jonathan Cooper, Casey Barth and Wil Baumann... video On Monday the Ashley boys soccer team won the Mideastern Conference regular season title with a 1-0 shutout win over New Hanover.... On Monday we checked out practice at UNC Asheville.
