Virginia knocks UNCW men's soccer team out of NCAA's

videoVirginia defeated UNCW on Sunday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament. Seahawk David Sizemore scored the first goal of the game midway through the first half to give UNCW the lead. Virginia scored an equalizer just before the break. The Cavaliers went onto score twice in the second half to win 3-1 over UNC Wilmington.

UNCW advances in NCAA Soccer Tournament

videoFreshman midfielder Kalvin Kromer and junior midfielder Daniel Escobar each scored a goal in the second half to lead UNCW to a 2-0 victory over Bucknell University in the first round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Thursday evening. The Seahawks will now face Virginia in round two.

UNCW men's soccer team to host NCAA Tournament game on Thursday

videoUNCW has earned its first at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament and will host Patriot League champion Bucknell in a first-round game at 7 p.m. Thursday at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. We attended a bracket viewing party on Monday when the pairings were released.

The NCAA Baseball Regionals begin Friday all around the nation. We caught up with former Hoggard Viking pitcher Coley Thompkins to get his take on Campbell's chance at advancing in the NCAAA's.

Both UNCW tennis teams headed to NCAA's

videoThe UNCW women’s tennis team officially collected its first postseason berth with an invitation to compete in the NCAA Clemson Regional. The UNCW men's tennis team will compete in the NCAA Charlottesville Regional against Penn State. We have reaction on both draws.

Huskies claim national basketball title

Shabazz Napier scored 22 points and Connecticut won its second NCAA title in four years, beating all those Kentucky freshmen 60-54 in the championship game Monday night.

David Pellom reflects on end of college career

videoIt took longer than most, but former New Hanover Wildcat basketball standout David Pellom is finally done with college basketball. He played his last game on Sunday in Raleigh at the NCAA Tournament. We were there before and after the final game with Pellom, a 2008 graduate of New Hanover High. Note, Pellom is currently a grad student at the University of Memphis.
