NC House tries to stop some local government moves

House Republicans want to prevent North Carolina city and county governments from collecting union dues from workers and requiring local employers to assume responsibilities related to pollution generated by their employees.

Civitas releases poll of independent voters

video The election could come down to one group that is not represented at either the DNC or RNC. The Civitas Institute recently conducted a poll among unaffiliated voters. These are voters who can swing the election in either direction.

State Republicans introduce 'Balanced Budget Act of 2011'

This week, they initiated important steps to achieve these goals by introducing the Balanced Budget Act of 2011 (SB 13) which would give Gov. Bev Perdue additional authority to reduce spending for the remainder of the current fiscal year. This bill passed out of the Appropriations Committee today.
