Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram offered his internal affairs investigator for free to look into a slew of allegations within Leland's police department, including sex at the station house, an officer pulling his gun on a colleague and an alcohol-fueled fight involving the police chief. There has been a cloud of allegations surrounding the town of Leland's police department for quite some time now. Two of the most recent include officers using the police station for sexual liaisons and an incident where one officer pointed a gun at another. After an ongoing WWAY NewsChannel 3 Investigation into allegations of misconduct and corruption within the Leland Police Department, the Leland Town Council has called a special meeting at 7 p.m. to discuss what Mayor Pro Tem Brenda Bozeman calls "personnel actions."
