The country's largest electricity company and a natural gas provider say they're looking for offers to build a second major natural gas pipeline into North Carolina to meet growing demand for the fuel.

Residents evacuated, roads closed after construction crews strike gas line

Some Wilmington residents have been evacuated and several roads closed down after construction crews struck a gas line just after noon today. Wilmington fire crews are on the scene of the leak at the intersection of 13th and Glenn Streets, where some roads are blocked because of the repairs underway.
