Polar PlungeHundreds take a cold dip for a good causeSubmitted by Christina Anthony on Sun, 02/24/2013 - 7:48pm.READ MORE:  Hundreds of people took a chilly, winter swim off of Carolina Beach this weekend for the 9th Annual Polar Plunge. Participants young and old, clothed and bare, lined up to sponsor New Hanover County's Special Olympic Program. Proceeds will benefit over 500 athletes, providing them with year-round sports training and games.

Some special kids around the Cape Fear are getting a special treat this week Their week is full of soccer, kickball and all sorts of games, and it's all put on by the Special Olympics.
