Brunswick County Economic Development Commission Executive Director Jim Bradshaw says Brunswick County was eliminated from the selection for a proposed manufacturing plant back on February 7, but officials chose to keep that decision quiet until now.

Caterpillar to build plant in Georgia, create 4,200 jobs

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal confirmed that Caterpillar plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Georgia, a project company officials say will create more than 4,200 US jobs.

Caterpillar met recently with local elected officials, school leaders as site pick nears

video School officials in New Hanover County say Caterpillar talked to them and Brunswick County educators recently to discuss their schools. Why here? In an e-mail to Peoria County, IL, Caterpillar reportedly said it wants to move the factory closer to its facility in Cary and wants better port access.

We're starting to get more details about a plan to bring a new industry to southeastern North Carolina. State Rep. Danny McComas (R-19th District) says the so-called Project Road Runner is good for the community, the region and the state.
