The North Carolina Department of Transportation closed River Road 2.9 miles south of Sanders Drive in both direction at 8 a.m. The closure continues until Friday at 5 p.m.

Rob Miller was driving down River Road Sunday morning when he passed two men riding their bicycles. He didn't think anything of them until he looked back in his rear-view mirror and saw them get hit by a car.
