On Thursday night we featured a rain-shortened baseball game between UNCW and George Mason. We also talked to UNCW A.D Jimmy Bass about the recent trend of schools leaving the CAA. In golf the UNCW men's golf team is tied for fifth place after one round of their NCAA Golf Regional. Plus, we featured state playoff softball action on Thursday that pitted South Columbus and South Lenoir. Full story...

Wednesday night's sports segment featured high school baseball action between Whiteville and defending 1A state champion East Columbus. We also checked out two area high school soccer matches. South Columbus tied East Columbus 1-1, while Whiteville shutout North Brunswick 7-0. We also took a look at some local boys tennis action between Cape Fear Academy and Laney High School. On Tuesday night we featured highlights from Norfolk, Virginia. Old Dominion beat UNCW in men's basketball 81-64. KK Simmons returned to the court for UNCW after a brief suspension. On Friday night we showcased the 2-A east finals of high school football. Tarboro beat South Columbus to advance to the 2-A state title game. Ayden-Grifton knocked off Wallace-Rose Hill in the 1-AA east finals. We've got highlights from both games. Click play video to see that. On Thursday night we showcased South Columbus football coach Jake Fonvielle. John Rendleman goes in-depth with the head coach of the South Columbus Stallions. Fonvielle's team will play Tarboro on Friday in the 2-A east finals for high school football.
