video The battle between Brunswick County District Attorney Jon David and District Court Judge Jerry Jolly finally had its day in the state Supreme Court. WWAY was the only Wilmington TV station in the courtroom in Raleigh as justices heard arguments from both sides today about a dispute over traffic court.

FIRST ON 3: Judge Jolly's attorney moves to dismiss DA David's appeal to NC Supreme Court

Since Jon David has no authority to petition for a writ in the name of the State of North Carolina, the Petition should be summarily dismissed. In the alternative, the Petition for a writ of mandamus should be denied, since Petitioner, Jon David, has no clear right to an administrative traffic court or administrative traffic court days.

ONLY ON 3: Judge Lewis, attorneys ban media from Bar Association meeting discussing DA, Judge Jolly

The Brunswick County Bar Association came together today to discuss District Attorney Jon David and the controversial StreetSafe program he would like to use. When we tried attending the meeting, we were escorted out by a sheriff's deputy and told it was "private meeting." When we followed up, we were told that Brunswick County Judge Ola Lewis had requested security for the meeting to keep anyone from going in.

According to Chief District Court Judge Jerry Jolly, Brunswick County District Attorney Jon David is initiating a scheme that would help profit one of his 2010 campaign contributors.
