The public will have an opportunity Tuesday to provide federal and state agencies with feedback on a plan to restore the natural resources in a Brunswick County town where a wood treatment operation contaminated the nearby environment for several decades.
U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials announced plans today to begin a Superfund hazardous substance removal at the P&W Waste Oil Superfund Site. The Site is located at 10518 Royster Road, Leland, Brunswick County, which is in Navassa city limits.
The US Environmental Protection Agency is adding 10 new hazardous waste sites that risk people's health and threaten the environment to the National Priorities List of Superfund sites and is proposing to include 15 additional sites. The list includes a site in Riegelwood.
