The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources (NCDENR) and the Multistate Environmental Response Trust will host a public meeting Tuesday to provide an update on the EPA-led cleanup of the Kerr-McGee Superfund Site in Navassa.
The public will have an opportunity Tuesday to provide federal and state agencies with feedback on a plan to restore the natural resources in a Brunswick County town where a wood treatment operation contaminated the nearby environment for several decades.
