A Fayetteville man is in jail charged with three hold-ups in Bladen County. Charles Edward Leach Jr., 22, was arrested Thursday and charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and three counts of 2nd degree kidnapping.

Usually elections are about who is on the ballot, but in the Bladen County town of Tar Heel, yesterday's election was about who was not on it. No one filed to run for mayor or three open town council seats. The lack of candidates led to write-in campaigns.
