3rd suspect arrested in vandalism of state-owned vehicles
State Capitol Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the vandalism of 65 state-owned vehicles and the theft of 23 gas fleet credit cards. A statement from the N.C. Department of Public Safety says 36-year-old Rodney Jermaine Wilson Sr. of Knightdale was arrested Tuesday after he turned himself in to authorities. He is charged with 48 separate felonies for breaking and entering vehicles, financial card thefts, and misuse and burning of personal property. Soldier pleads guilty to stealing $400K in fuel
Prosecutors say a Fort Bragg soldier has pleaded guilty to his part in a scheme to steal more than $400,000 worth of fuel from a base in Afghanistan. Authorities said in a news release that 25-year-old Alexander Swim would escort a foreign driver to the fuel depot at Forward Operating Base Sharana, let him fill up a tanker with American fuel and drive off.
