Adell Harris picked up her first win at UNC Wilmington on Wednesday night. The UNCW women's basketball team defeated NC Central in the home opener for the Seahawks. On Monday we found out former UNCW men's basketball coach Jerry Wainwright is headed a bit closer to home. Wainwright has decided to leave Fresno State. Congratulations are in order for the UNCW surf team. They finished in third place at the national collegiate surfing championship. On top of that a UNCW Seahawk and a former Laney Buccaneer haunted the Wilmington Sharks on Monday night. Full story...

Fourth of July weekend didn't turn out so well for team USA at the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games. They finished in eighth. However Kure Beach local Tony Silvagni continued to advance in the longboard contest, eventually claiming the gold medal. Full story...
