Former New Hanover Wildcat Trevon Brown hasn't seen any game action for the East Carolina Pirates since a knee injury two months ago. Brown had to miss the last five games for ECU. According to East Carolina head coach Ruffin McNeill the Wilmington wide receiver is anxious to get back on the field for the upcoming Birmingham Bowl against the Florida Gators. Full story...

Wilmington's Kadeem Allen was ready to play in the national spotlight. but he's going to have to wait another twelve months to suit up for coach Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats. Allen attended high school at Laney for three years, but he graduated from New Hanover High in 2012 after just one season in a Wildcat uniform. It was quite a season though. He led New Hanover to the 4-A basketball state title in 2012. Full story...

Nationally ranked East Carolina got off to an impressive start against Connecticut on Thursday night, but the Pirates had to hold on for a 31-21 victory. Wilmington's Trevon Brown made the most of his first collegiate start over the weekend in Greenville. The former New Hanover football standout caught two touchdown passes in East Carolina's 70-41 impressive victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels. Brown now has four touchdown receptions this season for ECU. Full story...

The Ashley Screaming Eagles overcame an early deficit to take the lead in the second half against White Oak on Monday night, but the Vikings prevailed in the end against Ashley. On Monday we also featured former New Hanover football standout Trevon Brown. The Carolina Panthers cut ties with former Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards. On Tuesday we checked out high school soccer and volleyball in Wilmington.
