videoMedia Day, one of the long traditions in college basketball, took place on Wednesday for Kevin Keatts and the 2014-15 UNCW Seahawks. We were there in order to check out this year's team. Former South Columbus football standout Ethan Farmer says the UNC Tar Heel defense will continue to make progress. Former East Columbus football standout Joe Gore will have to sit out the next two games for the Clemson Tigers. Plus more sports!

UNCW Seahawks unveil 2015 baseball schedule; New Hanover edges Hoggard in soccer in ot

videoThe UNCW baseball schedule for 2015 is set. The Seahawks will play a handful of ACC teams at Brooks Field in Wilmington. UNCW will also face Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles on the road for a three game set in Tallahassee. On Wednesday New Hanover edged Hoggard in overtime in boys soccer. We were there to check out the heated rivalry.

Ashley grad Christian Wolfe hangs up the bat and glove for good with Sharks & UNCW

videoFormer Ashley Screaming Eagle baseball standout Christian Wolfe has decided to put up his bat and glove for good. This means he's off the Wilmington Sharks roster. He won't be playing at UNCW anymore either. On Thursday without Christian Wolfe the Wilmington Sharks split their doubleheader with Morehead City. Wilmington Post 10 is state tournament bound. Former Sharks head coach, former UNCW assistant Godwin named ECU head coach

videoCliff Godwin was the head coach of the Wilmington Sharks in 2005. Before that stint Godwin served as an assistant baseball coach at UNC Wilmington. On Thursday Godwin was officially introduced to Pirate Nation as the new head baseball coach at East Carolina.

8 players with local ties picked in MLB Draft & tribute to Topsail & Whiteville state champs

videoThe baseball season ended on Friday night for UNCW. Only two teams remain alive in the quest for a CAA Baseball Championship: William & Mary and the College of Charleston. The Wilmington Hammerheads erupted with five goals on Friday night at Legion Stadium. In the state playoffs Topsail and Whiteville both advance in the baseball state playoffs on Friday. On Saturday Hoggard and Whiteville both moved on in soccer. Plus more!
