Students react to UNCW athletic cuts

videoUNCW has had their fair share of financial troubles in the athletic department. Just last year the swimming and diving program was on the chopping block, and now four track and field teams are going to be cut.

videoWe had quite an evening of high school football on WWAY's 5th Quarter. We showcased New Hanover's victory over Laney. We featured East Bladen senior Farrell Murchison. He broke the career rushing record for East Bladen Friday. Whiteville's Terrin Manning had 15 carries, 5 touchdowns and 330 yards on Friday. Plus more!

Student athletes rally to save sports at UNCW

videoSome sports programs at UNCW may be shutting down in the near future if UNCW chancellor Gary Miller follows the recommendations of a UNCW committee. On Wednesday one local high school soccer team lost in the state playoffs. One won. We were there for both.
