Laney and New Hanover both won state soccer playoff games on Wednesday night. The two Wilmington schools will now face each other on Saturday. This guarantees a Mideastern Conference team will earn a spot in the eastern finals next week. Full story...

Nationally ranked UNCW lost in men's soccer on Wednesday night in Wilmington to Elon. The UNCW volleyball did not have any issues on Wednesday though. The Seahawk volleyball squad knocked off the defending CAA champs with a sweep at Hanover Hall. Plus more! Full story...

The Detroit Lions need a kicker. Wilmington's Connor Barth will have a tryout with the Lions on Tuesday. Wil Baumann is ranked third in the nation in punting for college football. Both Barth and Baumann are Hoggard High graduates. Full story...

Media Day, one of the long traditions in college basketball, took place on Wednesday for Kevin Keatts and the 2014-15 UNCW Seahawks. We were there in order to check out this year's team. Former South Columbus football standout Ethan Farmer says the UNC Tar Heel defense will continue to make progress. Former East Columbus football standout Joe Gore will have to sit out the next two games for the Clemson Tigers. Plus more sports! Full story...
