Officer injured after police chase

A Whiteville police officer was injured after a car chase. Officers were called to the Cook apartment complex located on W. Burkhead St. and Martin Luther King Avenue by Deondra Johnson. She had an altercation with her boyfriend Dashad Deleon Maultsby earlier in the day.

video Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was shot in the leg Tuesday night. According to police reports, around 8:30, Candice Jordan was outside of her apartment near Whiteville Municipal Park when a cream-colored Chrysler 200 drove by.
