Republicans in the General Assembly will need some help from across the aisle to override Gov. Bev Perdue's veto of the state budget, and it looks like they may already have half the votes they need from our area.

video Gov. Bev Perdue made history yesterday when she became the first North Carolina governor to veto a spending plan. But this budget proposal is far from dead. Five Democrats voted for the Republican-led proposal; two of them right here in our area. But will they stand by their word when it comes to overriding the governor's veto?
