This weekend the sights, sounds, and smells of life at Fort Anderson brought many back to the time of the Civil War. History came alive when volunteers came from all over to dress for the time and remind residents in our area a little of its past.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says NC 133 will be closed from Daw's Creek Road and Southern Boulevard near Winnabow from 8 a.m. Monday until 5 p.m. Friday.

Junior Wheeler has no place to stay tonight. His home on Dove Haven Road in Winnabow caught fire Tuesday around 1 a.m. leaving memories still smoking hours later.
