Former Laney Buccaneer Tamera Young has missed more than six weeks of the WNBA season for the Chicago Sky. Young expects to return to the court on Tuesday if her thumb continues to heal over the weekend.

Former Laney High basketball standout Tamera Young saved the season for the WNBA Chicago Sky on Monday. Young made a basket that forced the game into overtime. Chicago ended up winning the playoff game in double overtime. Coincidentally, the UNCW men's soccer team also won in double overtime on Monday.
