A piece of landing gear believed to be from one of the planes destroyed in the Sept. 11 attacks has been discovered wedged between a New York City mosque site and another building near the World Trade Center.

WTC pieces find permanent home in Wilmington

videoTwo steel beams from the collapsed World Trade Center have arrived in Wilmington. Firefighters picked up the artifacts earlier this week and brought them back to town for a special reception.

WTC pieces arrive in Wilmington today

This afternoon two pieces of the World Trade Center will arrive in the Port City to become parts of monuments to the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. One monument will sit at Cape Fear Community College. The other will be at the Wilmington Fire Department's new station at Empie Park.

FIRST ON 3: WFD, CFCC to get pieces of World Trade Center

Sources tell WWAY Wilmington firefighters will pick up two pieces of the World Trade Center June 6 in New York. The pieces will arrive back here in Wilmington two days later, where they will be unveiled at Independence Mall.

Chilling new footage of 9/11; NYPD Helicopter video surfaces

According to Gawker, the National Institute of Standards and Technology requested the 17-minute video through the Freedom of Information Act, and the video was sent anonymously to the secret-sharing website Cryptome, which posted it. The Institute investigated the 9/11 attacks.
