12 ACC football teams headed to bowl games

East Carolina is headed to Birmingham to play in a bowl game. The Pirates will represent the AAC, meanwhile 12 ACC teams will play in college football bowl games. This includes NC State, UNC and Duke.

Former Hoggard punter Wil Baumann named first team All-ACC

videoNC State senior punter Wil Baumann was named an All-ACC first-team selection on Monday. Baumann, a four year starter for the Wolfpack, set the NC State career marks for most punts and punting yards during his senior season. Baumann is a graduate of Wilmington's Hoggard High School.

First round of boys soccer playoffs complete

videoThe first round of the soccer playoffs concluded on Wednesday night all around the state. The majority of our local squads won. Winners advance to the second round of the state playoffs later this week. Plus, we checked in with former UNCW Seahawk basketball standout Adam Smith on Wednesday. Smith now plays basketball at Virginia Tech.

#1 Florida State headed to Raleigh on Saturday

Hammherheads win; UNCW baseball season ends; Victories for Topsail, Hoggard & Whiteville

videoThe baseball season ended on Friday night for UNCW. Only two teams remain alive in the quest for a CAA Baseball Championship: William & Mary and the College of Charleston. The Wilmington Hammerheads erupted with five goals on Friday night at Legion Stadium. In the state playoffs Topsail and Whiteville both advance in the baseball state playoffs on Friday. On Saturday Hoggard and Whiteville both moved on in soccer. Plus more!

Charleston sends UNCW to consolation bracket; Jordan Betts leads Duke in win against Ga Tech

ACC takes over Saturday night for hoop title game

The Atlantic Coast Conference is moving its men's basketball tournament championship game to Saturday night. The league announced Tuesday that beginning this season, the tournament will shift to a Tuesday-through-Saturday format.
