The first round of the soccer playoffs concluded on Wednesday night all around the state. The majority of our local squads won. Winners advance to the second round of the state playoffs later this week. Plus, we checked in with former UNCW Seahawk basketball standout Adam Smith on Wednesday. When top ranked Florida State visits Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday it will mark the first time the nation’s No. 1 team will play on the Wolfpack’s home field. NC State has faced the No. 1 team three times in history, all on the road. We have reaction from Dave Doeren, Pharoah McKever and Jimbo Fisher. The baseball season ended on Friday night for UNCW. Only two teams remain alive in the quest for a CAA Baseball Championship: William & Mary and the College of Charleston. The Wilmington Hammerheads erupted with five goals on Friday night at Legion Stadium. In the state playoffs Topsail and Whiteville both advance in the baseball state playoffs on Friday. The UNCW baseball team didn't want to fight their way through the consolation bracket of the CAA Baseball Championship, but that's the route the Seahawks now have to take. At the ACC Baseball Tournament former New Hanover Wildcat Jordan helped propel Duke to a win against Georgia Tech. Plus more! Full story...

In a dramatic finish the UNCW baseball team won on Wednesday on the first day of the CAA Baseball Championship at Brooks Field. The Whiteville girls soccer team didn't have a dramatic outcome, but the Wolfpack players still managed to win. Plus more! Full story...

T.J. Warren, Leslie McDonald and Andre Dawkins had more than their fair share of impressive basketball plays in Burgaw on Thursday night. It was Warren's first professional game since declaring himself eligible for the NBA Draft. We had high school baseball action on Thursday.
