video A new effort to reduce underage drinking was introduced today at UNCW. NC ABC Chair Jim Gardner and New Hanover County District Attorney Ben David announced a partnership that creates a diversion program.

City committee recommends bar's liquor license request

The city's ABC Review Committee today gave a positive recommendation for Edward Peabody's ABC permit application. Peabody wants to open a bar called the Brikhouse at the site of the old Rox nightclub at 208 Market Street.

Liquor license could be issue in selling downtown bars

video Whoever buys the businesses would get everything included: the pool tables, the coolers and all the equipment it takes to run both. The only thing the buyer would have to do is apply for an alcohol permit. Recently that's has not been an easy thing to do downtown.

video The shooting death at Club 609 early Sunday morning marks the second murder at a Wilmington night club this year. Some people say after the Rhino Club closed down following the murder of a gang leader, Club 609 became the new hang out and attracted the same crowd.

Bartender charged with serving teen killed in crash

video According to an Alcohol Law Enforcement investigation, the bartender, 22-year-old Vincent Murphy, invited 19-year-old Marjorie Whitney to the bar before she crashed her car and died on Carolina Beach Road.
