28 sea turtles head back to ocean after treatment

video It's an annual rite of summer for the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. Volunteers loaded up once-injured sea turtles and headed for the beach, where cheering fans greeted the reptiles to watch them hit the water.

Pets rescued from overnight house fire

Wilmington firefighters rescued three pets from an overnight house fire and had to use a pet mask to resuscitate a dog. The fire department says all the animals survived and are doing well. No humans were injured.

WPD officer shoots dog that attacked K-9

A Wilmington Police officer shot and killed a dog last night while searching for a suspect. Police say it started when a driver police stopped at about 9:43 p.m. in the 400 block of Evans Street jumped and ran.
