New Hanover County Animal Control Services has confirmed the second case of rabies in a week and the fifth case for the year. ACS officers were called to a home on Shinn Creek Lane on Monday where a homeowner’s dog was attacked by a raccoon. The dog was current on its rabies vaccination.
