On Tuesday night we checked out baseball practice in Wilmington for the state champion Post 10 squad. Their next mission is to claim the regional crown.... Not many things in life are free. The New Hanover County K-12 Running Club is free though. Starting Monday, June 25th the club will meet every Monday. All school-aged children and teenagers who enjoy running are encouraged to attend. Full story...

On Thursday we checked in one more time with the UNCW & Whiteville baseball teams. They'll both be back on the field on Friday chasing championships. Tuesday night’s sports segment featured high school baseball state playoff action between two area teams. Whiteville hosted North Brunswick to see who would advance to the East 2A finals. We also showcased the West Brunswick baseball state 3A playoff game from Shallotte and the Ashley's 4A state baseball playoff game against Richmond County. Full story...

Friday night’s sports segment featured high school baseball state playoff action from West Brunswick. We also checked out the North Brunswick baseball team against North Pitt. We traveled to Ashley to watch the softball team defeat West Johnston 4-2 for the district title. The Hoggard girls soccer team was also in action tonight as they hosted Pinecrest. Full story...

We traveled to Ashley to watch the Screamin’ Eagles against Laney in a battle of Mideastern conference rivals. We also saw baseball action from Whiteville and Topsail. On Thursday night's sports on WWAY we featured high school soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball on a rainy night in SE North Carolina. The dominant teams just keep on winning (Topsail softball & Hoggard soccer), while New Hanover's victory in lacrosse just earned the school its first ever appearance in the state lacrosse playoffs.
