Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo headed to the New Hanover County Board of Elections office around eleven Monday morning to file for re-election. Wilmington City Council member Margaret Haynes will also file with the board of elections Monday.

The race for Wilmington mayor is getting started early this year. Paul Knight, vice president and general manager of Sea-Comm Media, which owns several radio stations, is expected to announce Tuesday he will run against Mayor Bill Saffo.
