It was back to school today for hundreds of students at Brunswick County Early College High School. This year is a special one for the school. It is the first year BCECHS will be take part in a national program that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math.

At a Tuesday night meeting, The Brunswick County Board of Education decided staggered start times were the way to go. In a 3-2 vote, the board decided elementary schools will start at 7:50 a.m., middle schools will start at 8:50 a.m., and high schools will start at 8:55 a.m.

A community is in mourning after the car crash yesterday in Brunswick County that killed a family of four. Two of the victims were a six-year-old boy and his nine-year-old brother. Both boys were students at Waccamaw School in Ash. The school lost another student just a few weeks ago.
