It was colorful. It was different. On Friday's Full Court Press the entire West Brunswick boys basketball team joined us live in the WWAY studio. The Trojans are now 18-0 on the season. They accepted our invitation for their special live appearance, but the invite hinged on West Brunswick beating Laney on Friday night in Buctown. We also featured victories from Hoggard, Ashley, Whiteville and Northside along with boys and girls action from Harrells-Cape Fear Academy. Full story...

Former Hoggard guard Stilman White hasn't seen much playing time this season in Chapel Hill. Playing time is now out of the question for the UNC Tar Heel guard the next few weeks due to a foot injury. Full story...

It's going to be hard for the West Brunswick boys basketball team to win all of their games this season, but so far that's been the case for the Trojans. This includes a nail biter on Tuesday on the road against New Hanover. We had game action and post game reaction from Brogden Hall plus highlights from Hoggard-Laney and Wilmington Christian-Cape Fear Academy. The Cape Fear Academy Basketball Challenge tipped off Wednesday. It's a three day event that will wrap up on Saturday. Wednesday's action included one of the best dunks of the season. Full story...

Tuesday is typically a full night for high school hoops. We had game action from Rocky Point. It was the first meeting ever in basketball between Trask and Hoggard. In Buctown the Pender boys edged Laney with a come from behind win. We checked out an overtime affair between Cape Fear Academy and Coastal Christian. We had UNCW women's basketball action too. A fair number of high school basketball teams opened the season on Tuesday night. We had game action involving Ashley, Cape Fear Academy and Wilmington Christian Academy. In fact Ashley boys head basketball coach Webster Guthrie picked up a win in his first game as the head coach of the Screaming Eagles. Nationally ranked UNCW lost in men's soccer on Wednesday night in Wilmington to Elon. The UNCW volleyball did not have any issues on Wednesday though. The Seahawk volleyball squad knocked off the defending CAA champs with a sweep at Hanover Hall. Plus more! Full story...

Former South Columbus Stallion football standout Ethan Farmer says the UNC Tar Heel defense is getting better. Farmer and the Tar Heels host Georgia Tech on Saturday. On Tuesday on WWAY we featured the latest AP high school football poll, volleyball from Cape Fear Community College along with Coastal Christian's soccer win over Cape Fear Academy. The UNCW men's soccer team now has two victories this season over a nationally ranked opponent. The first one occurred last Friday. The Seahawks picked up their second on Tuesday.
