On Friday night we unveiled the All-WWAY Full Court Press Basketball Team. It's certainly a prestigious honor to be recognized as one of the top five players in the WWAY viewing area. Cape Fear Community College student Malik Abdul-Rashid says he believes if he works hard enough, he can accomplish his greatest dreams. If you watched Nashville on ABC and WWAY Wednesday night, you may have caught a local man on screen. Cape Fear Community College Drama Instructor Jack Landry had a small speaking part in the episode. The start of Sunday's Daytona 500 belonged to Danica Patrick, but Jimmie Johnson stole the show at the end edging out Dale Earnhardt Jr. Sunday was a fairly busy sports day at UNCW. Jimmy Fletcher has been named the new director of athletics at West Brunswick High School. Current athletics director John Floyd recently announced his retirement effective March 1. Monday marked the first night of conference tournament play in high school basketball. On Friday night the Mideastern Conference took a back seat on the Full Court Press. We still had lots of high school hoops. In fact Friday was the final night of the 2012-2013 regular season.
