On Sunday UNCW continued its domination in exhibition games with its 26th consecutive preseason victory following an easy 92-51 decision over NCAA Division III Methodist Sunday at Trask Coliseum. The UNCW volleyball team also won. We had highlights from both of those games on WWAY. The Cape Fear Community College women's soccer team captured the Region X title on Sunday. Quate McKinzie has transferred from Pender High to Harrells Christian Academy. McKinzie is a sophomore who's already on the radar of several college coaches. The UNCW men's basketball team held a intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday night at Trask Coliseum. We were there for that along with three different state playoff high school volleyball games. On Monday Duplin County native Bonecrusher Smith told WWAY he's returning to the ring for a celebrity boxing event. Smith is a former WBA heavyweight champion. The Carolina Panthers played their best road game of the season on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. With a 2-3 record the Panthers are in sole possession of second place in the NFC South.
