A reward is being offered after an endangered sea turtle was found dead at Carolina Beach. What has some people up in arms, is what may have happened to creature. Someone found the young Kemp's Ridley sea turtle Tuesday along the sand underneath Snow's Cut Bridge. Its head was missing. Full story...

Police in Carolina Beach are looking for a driver who ran over a camper early Sunday morning at Freeman Park. "He was asleep in his tent about 2:30 in the morning and awakened by someone driving over him in his tent," Carolina Beach Police Det. Harry Humphries said. Full story...

The Army Corps of Engineers says it is going to work on $60 million worth of projects this year in and around the Cape Fear waterways. That's good news for many elected leaders of beach towns in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender Counties. They say beach renourishment and dredging are critical to both the local and regional economy.
