CFPUA resumes 16th St. valve replacement

video The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is getting back to work replacing water valves along part of 16th Street. Starting tomorrow, a private contractor will resume the work between Castle and Ann Streets. The work will take place between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. to try to lessen service and traffic impacts in this area.

CFPUA hoping to finish repairs before evening rush

videoThe Cape Fear Public Utility Authority now hopes to have traffic back to normal on Wooster Street before the heart of the evening rush. At about 3:30 p.m., CFPUA spokesman Mike McGill said crews were working on road repairs after fixing a water main break. He says all lanes of traffic on Wooster should be open by 4:30 p.m.

CFPUA reports 2,400-gallon sewage spill

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority says crews responded to and repaired a spill from the sanitary sewer system yesterday. Approximately 2,400 gallons was discharged, which flowed directly into the City of Wilmington Storm Drain system and then into the Cape Fear River.

CFPUA reports sewage spill in Porters Neck

CFPUA Operations crews have responded to and stopped a wastewater spill in the Country Haven area adjacent to the 8000 block of Market Street. At approximately 7:45 a.m. today, CFPUA staff discovered the spill while visiting the site to conduct routine maintenance. The CFPUA crew took action to stop the flow from the pipe, which appears to have been previously damaged.
