A new irrigation well on Westbrook Ave. and Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington is already causing problems for customers. They say it's keeping them from using the water in their homes. The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is getting back to work replacing water valves along part of 16th Street. Starting tomorrow, a private contractor will resume the work between Castle and Ann Streets. The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority now hopes to have traffic back to normal on Wooster Street before the heart of the evening rush. At about 3:30 p.m., CFPUA spokesman Mike McGill said crews were working on road repairs after fixing a water main break. He says all lanes of traffic on Wooster should be open by 4:30 p.m. Full story...
