It's been a dry year across North Carolina pushing much of the state into a moderate drought. While the clear, dry conditions may mean good beach weather, it is also having a very negative effect on our environment.

You can already see how dry it's been in the streams, rivers, marshes and lawns across the area, but the numbers back it up as well. So far this year we're four inches behind. That's a 25 percent deficit.
