WWAY'S Tuesday night sports - Sept. 25

On Tuesday night on WWAY we checked in on a special ceremony at Fenway Park in Boston. Trot Nixon and several of his 2004 World Series teammates were honored prior to the Red Sox-Rays game.... On Tuesday we checked out the UNCW-Duke soccer game. The Seahawks made a comeback victory.... On top of that we had local high school soccer action involving Laney and New Hanover...Plus more !

WWAY's Tuesday night sports - Feb. 28; UNCW gears up for CAA Basketball Tournament

video The UNC Wilmington men's basketball team hasn't won a game at the CAA Basketball Tournament since 2008. Will 2012 be the year of the Seahawk? UNCW certainly hopes they can win four games in a row in order to get into the NCAA Tournament. The madness begins on Friday when UNCW tangles with James Madison in Richmond.

WWAY'S Thursday night sports - Feb. 23; UNCW edges Towson in women's hoops

video On Thursday night the UNC Wilmington women's basketball team edged Towson by two points at Trask Coliseum. This was a nip and tuck affair the entire game. The biggest lead for either team? video Former New Hanover slugger Jordan Betts hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday for Duke, but Campbell beat the Blue Devils in college baseball. NC State shutout UNCW in college baseball. The Wolfpack scored all ten of their runs in the same inning. On Tuesday two private schools in Wilmington ended their high school basketball season with playoff losses.
